Management of Erectile Dysfunction (ED) & Premature Ejaculation (PE)
Shockwave Therapy & PRP-Based Treatment at WNHO Institute Clinic, Pune
Special 50% Concession for the Initial 10 Eligible Patients
Sexual health concerns such as Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and Premature Ejaculation (PE) can affect confidence, intimacy, relationships, and overall quality of life. Diabetes, hypertension, obesity, stress, anxiety, medication use and vascular health may contribute to erectile difficulties.
At WNHO Institute Clinic, Pune, we provide a structured clinical assessment for men presenting with sexual-health concerns and, where medically appropriate, consider advanced treatment options including Low-Intensity Shockwave Therapy (Li-SWT) and PRP-based procedures.
Who May Register?
The current clinical assessment program is particularly intended for:
Men with mild to moderate Erectile Dysfunction
Men with Diabetes-associated ED, subject to medical evaluation
Men experiencing difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection
Men with associated sexual-confidence or relationship concerns
Selected patients with ED who may be considered for regenerative or device-based treatment
The first 10 eligible patients may receive a 50% concession on the applicable treatment package.
1. Erectile Dysfunction in Diabetes
Diabetes can adversely affect blood vessels, nerves and endothelial function, all of which can contribute to erectile difficulties.
For a patient with diabetic ED, treatment should therefore begin with an appropriate evaluation rather than assuming that one treatment will work for everyone.
Assessment may include:
Sexual and medical history
Diabetes and cardiovascular-risk assessment
Medication review
Blood-pressure assessment
Evaluation of lifestyle factors
Focused genital examination when indicated
Relevant laboratory investigations when clinically appropriate
Assessment of psychological and relationship factors
The objective is to identify potentially reversible contributors and develop an individualized management plan.
2. Low-Intensity Shockwave Therapy
Low-Intensity Shockwave Therapy (Li-SWT) is a non-invasive treatment approach that has been investigated for erectile dysfunction, particularly vasculogenic ED.
The treatment uses acoustic waves applied to selected areas of the penis. The proposed mechanism involves stimulation of local biological responses and vascular pathways that may support tissue and blood-flow function.
Potential advantages
Non-invasive
Generally performed as an outpatient procedure
Does not require an injection for the shockwave component
Minimal downtime in many patients
May be considered in selected men with vasculogenic ED
However, response varies between individuals, and shockwave therapy should not be presented as a guaranteed cure.
3. PRP-Based Therapy
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is prepared from the patient's own blood. Platelets contain growth factors and other biological mediators that have been investigated for their potential role in tissue healing and regeneration.
PRP-based approaches have been studied in sexual medicine, including erectile dysfunction. However, the clinical evidence remains evolving, and PRP should be considered an adjunctive or investigational option in appropriate patients, rather than a guaranteed treatment.
Before undergoing PRP treatment, patients should receive appropriate medical counselling regarding:
Potential benefits
Limitations of available evidence
Alternatives
Possible adverse effects
Expected treatment course
Individual suitability
4. Management of Premature Ejaculation
Premature Ejaculation (PE) is a common male sexual-health concern and can have biological, psychological and relationship-related contributors.
Management should be individualized.
Depending on the clinical assessment, management may include:
Sexual counselling
Psychosexual counselling
Behavioural techniques
Partner communication
Anxiety and performance-pressure management
Treatment of associated erectile dysfunction
Appropriate medical treatment when indicated
Lifestyle and relationship interventions
Shockwave therapy and PRP should not be promoted as established first-line treatments for PE. Where PE coexists with ED, treating the underlying erectile problem may be an important part of the overall management strategy.
5. Why Evaluate Diabetic ED Early?
Men with diabetes should not ignore persistent erectile difficulties.
ED can sometimes be associated with underlying vascular and metabolic risk factors. A proper evaluation may therefore help identify issues requiring broader medical attention.
Improving:
Blood-glucose control
Blood pressure
Lipid profile
Body weight
Physical activity
Sleep
Smoking and alcohol habits
Psychological wellbeing
may form an important part of comprehensive sexual-health management.
6. WNHO Clinical Approach
At WNHO Institute Clinic, Pune, eligible patients can undergo a structured consultation before any treatment is recommended.
Step 1 — Clinical Consultation
Understanding the patient's symptoms, duration, medical history and sexual concerns.
Step 2 — ED Assessment
Determining severity and identifying possible vascular, metabolic, neurological, medication-related and psychological factors.
Step 3 — Diabetes & Risk-Factor Review
For diabetic patients, overall metabolic and cardiovascular risk should be considered.
Step 4 — Individualized Treatment Plan
Depending on the diagnosis, treatment may involve lifestyle modification, counselling, conventional medical treatment, device-based therapy, or other appropriate interventions.
Step 5 — Follow-Up
Treatment response should be monitored using appropriate clinical measures and patient-reported outcomes.
